DUPLOMATIC MS: special projects developed together with the customer
The Hydraulic Systems Business Unit has recently released a test bench for filters. This will be inserted in the R & D department of a company that builds filters, with the aim of determining the pressure drops, filter body and cartridges, measuring electrostatic charges. This will also determine the Delta (p) of the element under test as a function of the viscosity of the oil.
DUPLOMATIC MS: SPECIAL PROJECTS DEVELOPED TOGETHER WITH THE CUSTOMER
The test bench has been designed to be able to operate both with mineral fluid and with special fluids: for this reason, both the tank and piping have been made of electropolished stainless steel.
The bench, which will be included in the R&D department of a company that manufactures filters, is designed for:
- determination of the pressure drops of the filter body and cartridges;
- measurement of electrostatic charges;
- determination of the delta P of the element under test as a function of the viscosity of the oil.
This is a complex solution that has required a customized development lasting 5 months from the identification of the customers’ needs, to the concept, to the realization and finally up to the final product testing.
Special projects - Hydraulic Systems
More specifically, the main bench, integrated with a closed loop inverter, is suitable for operation with both mineral oil and military-grade synthetic oil.
It produces a noise lower than 73 dBa and has a 4,000-lt. tank, 1,300 l/min flow rate and 45 Kw installed power.
The tank is also equipped with four 1.5 Kw resistors and is designed for a heat exchanger in order to control the temperature of the oil and therefore its viscosity.
A series of sophisticated digital instruments including a flow meter, two differential pressure meters and one temperature meter, all equipped with HART protocol. This allows for a test filter to be precisely characterized.
Special projects - Hydraulic Systems
The rain system is a containment tank equipped with grating in order to facilitate cleaning and drainage of the lines.
What makes this project a special experience?
The solution was developed for an Italian company that produces customized components in Italy, similar to the activity of the Hydraulic Systems BU within Duplomatic.
It is therefore a perfect example of “Made in Italy” amalgamating skills and teamwork.
