ORC turbines

Rankine cycle turbines are used on geothermal sites to exploit the thermal energy stored underground in order to heat the working fluid used in the turbine. Sometimes, the low available temperatures require use of flammable working fluids and often the environment is contaminated with sulphuric acid and sulphur dioxide.
These machines, with compact dimensions, frequently pass from generation of energy for the grid to island generation, therefore hydraulic actuation of valves is preferred over pneumatic solutions due to the speed and precision of action.
