Sheet metal deformation: Duplomatic MS solutions
For over 40 years, Duplomatic MS has been operating in the sheet metal forming sector both with components featuring high performance and reliability in accordance with the regulations about machine design, and with systems built according to customer specifications featuring the added value of the company's considerable know-how.
In deformation applications, calenders are machines that give the flat sheet a complex tubular shape, mainly round or elliptical. They may seem extremely simple machines to design and manage, but they are machines that require rigidity and precision to obtain a quality product.
They differ from each other in size (length of the product) and in the rollingthicknesses.
Duplomatic MS is a leader in the supply of systems for both medium-small calenders (sheet metal thicknesses up to 10 mm) and medium and medium-large calenders sheet metal thicknesses over 100 mm).
The hydraulic circuit for simple calenders generally provides cylinders in series with the possibility of varying the tilt inclination. This circuit is generally used on low-power calenders as it is known that in a series circuit the power is calculated only on the section of the main cylinder. High powers would require very large cylinders.
For this type of calenders, Duplomatic MS proposes a new hydraulic circuit.
The hydraulic circuit is designed according to the final product. If the calender is made to produce round or conical shapes, the hydraulic circuit is used in series (one block for each frame) with double pump, to manage the movements of the two frames independently (when it is necessary to vary the angle for conicity) and synchronized, depending on the type of profile. With the fast/slow system, it is possible to obtain a final positioning accuracy of a few tenths of a millimetre, in line with the needs. The hydraulic circuit in series makes it possible to exploit the entire push area of the cylinders of each frame. It also reduces calendering times by being able to exploit higher speeds during movements.
When the final product has a particular shape, such as the diesel tanks of large trucks, Duplomatic MS offers a hydraulic circuit with interpolated axes.
These tanks have an elliptical shape and require extreme calendering precision to make sure that the edges fit together perfectly for welding. In addition, the calendering time must be as short as possible because it is a large series production.
DXE3J-LZ* servo valvesare installed in these systems to ensure parallelism and positioning accuracy of less than a tenth of a millimetre.
