LASER MACHINES AND SAWS

The processing of steel tubes does not only involve bending and tapering, but also includes the machining of special profiles and accurate cutting performed by automatic machines. In this context, laser machines and CNC saws come into play.

In laser machines, there are multiple hydraulic movements, ranging from bar loaders to tube clamping systems, all the way to the final unloading phase of the shaped tube. In addition to laser cutting, these machines can perform threading, drilling, and the insertion of threaded bushings, all controlled hydraulically.

The hydraulic system must be highly versatile in order to quickly adjust the support pressures to the weight of the tube, which can vary by a few quintals on the same machine, and provide different flow rates each time to power the actuators performing the designated function. The demanding cycle times require high dynamics, precision, and repeatability.

Duplomatic MS proposes Hybrid solutions to fully meet the manufacturer's needs. The power hydraulic group consists of a single or double pump, driven by a permanent magnet motor with a paired inverter. The flow rate varies depending on the frequency of the electric motor and behaves like a servo pump. The main advantage of this Hybrid solution lies in the response time of the motor-pump group to a sudden flow demand. The adjustment time from minimum flow rate to maximum flow rate is approximately 50 milliseconds, a time that the classic variable-displacement pump cannot come close to. Moreover, it provides only the necessary flow rate at any given moment, thus avoiding heat dissipation of excess flow. This is a significant advantage compared to a group with a fixed-displacement pump.

That's not all! The pressure transducer integrated into the pump can manage the closed pressure loop with a precision of tenths of a bar. Therefore, in each cycle phase, the unit provides the required flow rate and pressure—nothing more and nothing less!

Saws are slightly less sophisticated machines, but they could still benefit from the use of Hybrid groups, if only for the resulting energy savings.

If you have specific requirements, Duplomatic MS always has the product and technical solution to meet any request.
