Power unit 4.0: Duplomatic MS remotely controllable hydraulic power units
A hydraulic unit is the heart of a hydraulic system; it provides the energy to move the cylinders and hydraulic motors which are the most important parts in hydraulics. Hydraulic power plants are used both in the mobile sectors and in industry, where it is necessary to move heavy parts with precision (hydraulic presses, rolling mills, injection or blowing presses of plastic).
For this reason, the efficiency of a hydraulic system becomes more and more important for those companies that use machinery whose unexpected stop can create economic damage not only to the company itself, but also to the end customer. For example, in presses in the automotive sector, the stop of a hydraulic press that prints a component, even a simple one, of a car can put an entire production line of a car in crisis.
It is therefore important to know the state of health not only of the machine, but also of the heart that moves it. This brings the need to digitize a hydraulic unit, or to monitor the main functions with sensors and smart valves, thus making a simple hydraulic unit “talk”. The knowing of its state of health remotely becomes necessary to prevent unexpected and sudden failures. This is what we have done with the "digitized" control panel.
Many benefits for customers
The efficiency and reliability of a machinery or a hydraulic power plant are becoming increasingly important in the industry 4.0 perspective. This premise implies force play, that traditional maintenance is no longer current if we want to be reactive to the continuous variations of the market. The use of mathematical models and the acquisition of an ever-increasing amount of machinery data, has allowed predictive maintenance to understand in a scientific way when it is necessary to intervene.
